This scholarship fund was established in 2011 by Art and Nancy Smith. It was established to help Racine County Latino students achieve their full potential through continuing education.

The recipient(s) of this award shall be chosen from one or more of the following schools:

J.I. Case High School
William Horlick High School
The Prairie School
Racine Lutheran High School
The REAL School
St. Catherine’s High School
Walden III Middle/High School
Washington Park High School
Gateway Technical College
Marquette University
Carthage College
UW-Parkside
UW-Milwaukee

 
CRITERIA:

  1. Will have completed the final two years of schooling at one of the high schools or will have been admitted to the college listed above.

  2. Will have been a participant of the Racine ELCA Neighborhood Camp at Emaus or the Emaus EASY Program for at least two years.

  3. Will be accepted at an accredited college or university, technical, or community college.

  4. Will be from the upper 75 percentile of his/her graduating high school class.

  5. Will have participated in extra-curricular school and community activities.

  6. Must demonstrate financial need, including inability to obtain traditional student loans.
